"THE SUBLET" AND OTHER AWARD WINNING SIMON STUDIO FILMS TO BE SCREENED THIS SUNDAY EVENING, JULY 12 IN POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. AS PART OF HUDSON-FULTON QUADRICENTENNIAL UNDER THE BRIDGE FILM FESTIVAL - SCREENINGS AND INDEPENDENT FILM PANEL DISCUSSIONS AT MID HUDSON CHILDREN'S MUSEUM PAVILLION JULY 11-12
A special screening of the award winning feature film THE SUBLET and new SIMON STUDIO
short films will be featured at the upcoming Hudson-Fulton Quadricentennial Under the Bridge
Film Festival this Sunday, July 12 in the Pavillion of the Mid Hudson Children's Museum.
Starring Poughkeepsie resident Roger Hendricks Simon and directed by Georgiana Nestor, the
film - shot in Poughkeepsie and NYC - was critically acclaimed when it opened in NYC at
the Quad Cinema and won four BEST FEATURE awards at international festivals. This special
film festival is sponsored by the Hudson-Fulton Quadcentennial Celebration Committee. Other
films selected to be screened on Sunday are the premier of director Daniel Simon's new short
films - LATE NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT and JIMMY'S CAFE (written by Jude Albert and recently
screened at Newport Beach Film Festival in California). Additional locally produced shorts,
documentaries and films by the Children's Media Center and others will be featured on
Saturday, July 11. Panel discussions will feature local as well as national and international
film makers TBA. Local participants on the Sunday night panel include film makers Daniel
and Roger Hendricks Simon of THE SIMON STUDIO and Georgiana Nestor, producer/director
of THE SUBLET. THE SUBLET will be screened at 8 pm Sunday night preceded by Daniel
Simon's shorts and the panel discussion on Independent film making called "THE ROAD TO
INDEPENDENCE". A special historical archive film on Poughkeepsie will be screened by
Poughkeepsie videographer Dick Crenson starting at 6 pm Sunday with the panel discussion
on independent film making to follow at 7:15 pm. Appropriate for the entire family,
